What does a blue Blackhawk look like? Tonight we find out

To mix up the playing schedule, the U14 NL team's Thursday training this week was replaced by a friendly match against TASIS in Thorpe.

TASIS is in fact the school of multiple Blackhawks players, who switched allegences this evening by playing in the blue of TASIS rather than the, erm, black of the Blackhawks. After a pair of commanding performances against Oxford Hoops on Saturday, Jonathan and Sean were representing their school alongside Will from the U16 CVL squad.

With parents evening, illness, and "playing for the other team" reducing the Blackhawks to six players at the beginning of the match, some new roles on the court were tried out with Jack and Temi both spending some time sampling the role of Point Guard and scoring a 3-point shot each. But some things stay the same, as Thomas returned to the squad from injury and immediately began collecting more than his fair share of rebounds.

The Blackhawks led at the half by five points, having been buoyed by the arrival of Julian who soon chipped in with a block on Sean and a 3-point shot of his own. The second half was a more high scoring affair, with Joe getting some impressive lay-ups, Ben putting in the yards for some effective link up play, and Kai making his presence felt under the basket. Jack and Sean spent the majority of the game marking one another, just like any other Thursday, with each boy getting in excess of 20 points for their respective teams and totally exhausting one another in the process.

A 55-45 win for the Blackhawks keeps the competitive basketball flowing as we head towards the final few games of the season, and we'll be glad to get some of our players back for them.
